Animal Care Project

Caring for families also means caring for their animals.

ONG É Por Amor supports families accompanied in Manguinhos in caring for their pets through donations of pet food, veterinary medication, responsible guidance and coordination with specialized partners.

The project counts on the partnership of independent animal protector Guga Ungerer, through SOS Pets - RJ, and on coordination with MRSC - RJ, Homeless People and Their Dogs - RJ, strengthening a responsible care network for the animals of the families we support.

This project is exclusively for families accompanied by ONG É Por Amor. We do not rescue animals.
Integrated care

A project built on support, responsibility and family bonds.

For many families facing vulnerability, pets are part of the emotional structure of the home. They are companionship, protection, presence and bond. For this reason, caring for these animals also contributes to the dignity of the families we accompany.

The Animal Care Project was created to support this care in a responsible, organized way and within the operational capacity of ONG É Por Amor, always in partnership with initiatives that already work directly in animal protection.

Important ONG É Por Amor does not rescue, shelter, foster or place animals for adoption. The project serves exclusively the pets of families already accompanied by the NGO in Manguinhos.
How the project works

Direct support, without promising what we cannot deliver.

The work is objective: supporting families assisted by the NGO with essential items for their animals, facilitating access to specialized partners and strengthening a culture of responsible care.

01

Pet food donations

Allocation of pet food for animals belonging to accompanied families, according to donation availability and internal screening.

02

Veterinary medication

Support with veterinary medication through the partnership with independent animal protector Gustavo Ungerer, known as Guga, through the SOS Pets - RJ project.

Responsible care

Animal protection with a social focus.

The project recognizes that social vulnerability also affects a family’s ability to provide basic care for their animals. Supporting this care helps prevent abandonment, reduces suffering and strengthens bonds of responsibility within the territory.

Clear limits

Acting seriously also means defining scope.

The project does not replace veterinary clinics, shelters, public agencies or animal rescue initiatives. Its purpose is to support families already accompanied by the NGO, reducing risks and expanding care within a possible network.

What the project does — and what it does not do.

Clear scope protects the accompanied families, the animals, the partners and the operation of ONG É Por Amor itself. The project exists to support a possible care network, without taking on roles that belong to clinics, shelters, public agencies or specialized rescue initiatives.

Serves exclusively families accompanied by ONG É Por Amor in Manguinhos.

Supports with pet food, veterinary medication and guidance, according to availability.

Coordinates veterinary care through specialized partners.

Promotes awareness of responsible guardianship and animal care.
